Week Beginning: 15/09/25

This week, our Year 4 children have immersed themselves in the joy of music. They have been exploring the uplifting song “This Little Light of Mine”, drawing inspiration from the Soweto Gospel Choir’s powerful version. Through listening, singing, and movement, the children have been practising how to keep and respond to the beat, adding energy and expression to their performance. As part of their learning, the children also identified how many times key phrases were repeated and listened carefully to pick out instruments that played solos. They compared different versions of the song, successfully identifying what they liked and didn’t like about each one. It has been wonderful to see their listening skills, musical understanding and confidence grow as they celebrate music together.
