30. Week beginning 04/05/26
This week in Year 5 we have continued our exciting learning across the curriculum 🌟📚.
In Writing, we completed our own Survival Narratives 🧭🌪️ based on a range of adventurous locations. We used descriptive language and suspense to bring our dangerous settings to life and carefully considered how our characters would survive different challenges along the way.
In Maths, we focused on estimating and measuring angles up to 180 degrees 📐🔢. We practised using protractors accurately and developed our understanding of acute, obtuse and straight angles.
In History, we began our new topic on the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings ⚔️🏰. We started by learning about what happened after the Romans left Britain and discussed how this led to new invasions and changes across the country.
In RE, we looked closely at our Mother Mary 💙🙏 and explored how she was the first disciple of Jesus. We discussed what discipleship means and reflected on how Mary showed faith, trust and dedication throughout her life ✝️✨.
We also enjoyed taking part in our Fun Friday activities ⚽🌍 linked to the upcoming World Cup. Year 5 represented Team France and explored how the World Cup brings people, countries and cultures together as one through sport, teamwork and celebration 🎉🤝.
