20. Week beginning 09/02/26
In Science, we have been learning about reversible and irreversible changes. The children explored how reversible changes can be undone, whereas irreversible changes create new materials and cannot be reversed. We looked at the signs of an irreversible change, such as colour change, temperature change, gas being released or light being emitted. To bring this to life, we carried out an exciting experiment using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar to test our hypotheses — it was great to see such enthusiasm for scientific enquiry! ๐งช
In Computing, we have been continuing our work using Purple Mash to create our own games. The children have shown fantastic creativity in designing and completing their games, and have also developed their evaluation skills by reflecting on the strengths of others’ games and suggesting thoughtful improvements. ๐ป๐ฎ
In Religious Education, we have been learning about the Transfiguration. The children described, in detail and in sequence, what the disciples witnessed, and explored the significance of Moses and Elijah appearing with Jesus. We also looked at different artistic interpretations of the Transfiguration, discussing how artists represent meaning and how these images can deepen our understanding of this important event. โ๏ธ๐จ
