19. Week beginning 02/02/26
In Maths, we have been focusing on multiplication using formal written methods. At the start of the week, the children built on their understanding of multiplying 2-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers and extended this to multiplying 3-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers. As the week progressed, they moved on to the more challenging step of multiplying 4-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers. The children have shown great determination and resilience when tackling these more complex calculations — well done! ➗
In PE (Gymnastics), we have been exploring matching and mirroring in sequence work. The children worked collaboratively to create short routines, carefully copying and responding to each other’s movements. It was fantastic to see their teamwork and creativity in action! 🤸♀️
In Geography, we have begun learning about rivers. The children explored the key features of a river, such as the source, mouth and different stages, and began to locate some of the world’s major rivers. 🌍💧
We also enjoyed a fantastic Fun Friday, where we learnt all about India and Bollywood. The children explored different aspects of Indian culture and even took part in a Bollywood dancing workshop! This was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and learn about different cultures within our school community 🌏💃
