This week, the Year 4 children enjoyed a fantastic Schools Linking Trip with their partner school in Sale. Throughout the day, they developed their teamwork, honesty, empathy, resilience, optimism, oracy, tolerance and self-awareness skills by taking part in a range of engaging activities. These included playing invisible characteristics bingo, completing silent challenges where they organised themselves from oldest to youngest, by height and into alphabetical order of their surnames without speaking. They also worked together in a Commando Joe challenge, using only five pieces of equipment to cross the "Amazon Rainforest" without touching the floor. To finish the day, the children collaborated to design a new school logo that combined the values and identities of both St Simon's School and The Firs Primary. It was a wonderful day of learning, cooperation and new friendships.
