This week in Nursery, the children have been engaged in a range of exciting and hands-on learning experiences across all areas of development

Maths

• We have been learning about the 'number 2'.
• Children counted different objects totalling 2. We put 2 objects into a 5 frame, knowing that there are 3 spaces left.
• We learnt how to spot 2, quickly, without counting.
• Our number rhyme this week was "One, two buckle my shoe".

Religious Education

• We listened to the story when an angel appeared to Mary to tell her some special news.
• We talked about how scared Mary would have felt when she saw the angel and how she felt trusted when God had chosen her for his special job.

Understanding of the World

• We talked about Bonfire Night and how we can celebrate this. We know how we can be safe too.

Expressive Art and Design

• We made a firework pictures, drew firework shapes and made different firework noises. 

Phonics

• This week in Phase 1 phonics, we explored 'oral blending', we listened to sounds and said what word the sounds made when put together.
