16. Week beginning 12/01/26
Our work on The Hound of the Baskervilles has taken an exciting turn as we delved deeper into the mystery. The children stepped into role through drama, exploring characters’ thoughts and motives. This immersive approach has really strengthened their understanding of the text and will support their narrative writing in the coming weeks.
Our drama work linked to Literacy has helped pupils develop expressive language, teamwork and empathy. They particularly enjoyed bringing scenes to life and exploring how characters might behave in moments of tension or mystery.
In maths, we have been adding fractions with different denominators. Pupils have been practising how to find common denominators and apply their knowledge to solve increasingly complex problems.
This week we learned about St Josephine Bakhita and reflected on how her life demonstrates each of the Beatitudes. The children discussed how her example of forgiveness, courage and compassion can inspire us to live out these teachings in our own daily choices.
