Our Learning

This week in nursery, the children have been engaged in a range of exciting and hands-on learning experiences across all areas of development.

In Maths, we explored sorting, we sorted objects by colour, size and shape. Our number rhyme this week was "Five Currant Buns", which helped us with early subtraction skills in a fun and musical way. Children used tweezers to sort different poms poms, making pictures of currant buns.

In RE, we learnt about how we can help to look after God's Wonderful World. We sorted actions which made a 'happy world'. We put posters in our classroom to remind us how we can help in school.

In Expressive Art and Design, we used watercolours to paint pumpkin shapes, we then painted marks onto them to decorate.

This week in Phonics, we explored rhyme and rhythm. We listened to the story ‘Don't put your finger in the jelly, Nelly!’  We are beginning to recognise rhyming words. We listened out and repeated rhyming phrases.
