Our Learning

We’ve had a fantastic final week of this block of learning and discovery and growth. How do living things change?

RE and EAD: We have been learning about Pentecost. We learnt about the special story of Pentecost and the arrival of the Holy Spirit. To celebrate, we got creative and made bright, colourful Pentecost hats to represent the "tongues of fire." The children looked wonderful wearing them.

Maths: This week was all about positional language. We’ve been using words like in and out, on and under and in front of and behind to describe where objects are.

Understanding the World: We’ve been exploring the life cycle of farm animals. The children loved matching mummies to their babies and seeing how much they change as they grow.

Literacy: The children have been making marks and using the phonemes (sounds) they know to write their very own lists of farm animals. We saw some great attempts at writing 'pig', 'cat', and 'hen'. In our phonics, we have been listening to the sounds in CVC words, the sound at the beginning, the middle and the end of each word.
