35: Week Beginning: 30/03/26

Through Art, the children explored the powerful and mysterious scene of Jesus’ tomb after he had been crucified. They imagined what it might have been like on that first Easter morning, when the stone had been rolled away and the tomb was found open and empty. In their artwork, the children showed the broken, disturbed tomb and thought about how surprising it must have felt when Jesus’ body was no longer there.

As they reflected more deeply, the children began to understand that this was not a moment of loss, but a sign of something truly wonderful.

The empty tomb is an important part of the Easter story because it reminds us of Jesus’ resurrection when he rose again, bringing hope, joy and new life to the world. Through their creative work, the children expressed how darkness and sadness can be transformed into light and hope, just as the Easter story teaches us.
