What we have learnt:
This week in Nursery, the children have been engaged in a range of exciting and hands-on learning experiences across all areas of development:
Maths
- We have continued to explore sorting, we sorted objects and made our own rules, for example, leaves and not leaves.
- Children sorted a variety of different objects, talking about what how they sorted them into groups.
- Our number rhyme this week was "Five Fat Sausages", which helped us with early subtraction skills in a fun and musical way.
Religious Education
- We have talked about the many different ways in which we can look after our world.
- We sorted actions in to 2 groups, ways to have a happy earth and ways to make a sad earth.
Understanding of the World
- We looked at the season of autumn, we listened to lots of stories and sang rhymes about autumn.
Expressive Art and Design
- We made trees with beautiful autumn coloured leaves.
Phonics
- This week in Phase 1 phonics, we explored alliteration.
- We made class names for each other using alliteration.
- We listened to the initial sounds of objects and made ‘silly soup’.
