Week beginning 12/5/25
What a week it’s been in class! This afternoon, the children gave a fantastic performance in our class assembly. With confidence, enthusiasm, and plenty of smiles, they shared their learning with a captivated audience. It was wonderful to see how clearly and proudly they spoke, and how well they worked together to bring the assembly to life. A huge well done to everyone involved—you were brilliant!
In literacy, we’ve been diving into the dramatic and fascinating story of Pompeii. The children have been learning how to use powerful descriptive language to imagine what it would have been like when Mount Vesuvius erupted. Their writing has been truly impressive, filled with vivid imagery, emotion, and detail that really captures the chaos and intensity of the eruption.
Next week, the excitement continues as the children begin planning and writing their own stories based on escaping from Pompeii. We can’t wait to see how they use all the skills they’ve developed to create suspenseful and gripping narratives.
Well done to all the children for their hard work and enthusiasm this week—keep it up!
