Week beginning 30/06/25
It’s been another action-packed week in Year 5! Our pupils had the exciting opportunity to visit St James’ High School for a taster morning. They enjoyed experiencing life at secondary school, taking part in a range of activities and beginning to imagine the next stage of their learning journey.
Back in the classroom, the children became scientists as they investigated friction through a hands-on experiment, exploring how different surfaces affect movement. There was lots of curiosity and great discussion as they tested their predictions.
To continue their Vikings topic, the children took part in a fun and engaging Viking treasure hunt. It was a brilliant way to consolidate all they’ve learned – with plenty of enthusiasm, teamwork, and a few hidden treasures along the way!
The week also included an energetic lacrosse session, where pupils learned new skills and had a go at this fast-paced, exciting sport. It was fantastic to see them developing coordination, teamwork, and trying something new with such enthusiasm.
