In History, this week the children have been exploring 'people who made a difference'. They learnt about how significant Nelson Mandela was. Mandela was a positive, passionate and inspirational leader who stood up for human rights. He fought racism and declared he was a role model for people all over the world. He was prepared to go to prison for a lifetime because he wanted everybody to be treated fairly. He disliked the fact that black people had to live separate lives and use different facilities.
