Week Beginning 16th June
This week we have enjoyed the warmer weather. The children enjoyed spending time in our outdoor area. We have been looking at the story "The Gruffalo" by Julia Donaldson. We have used our imaginations by recreating the story in our small world area and created our own versions of the story using Tales Toolkit. We also made gruffalo masks to use in our play. In maths, we have been consolidating our learning on the concepts of more and less, positional language and sequencing. At Forest School we had fun exploring our forest area looking for bugs!! We found grasshoppers, ladybirds, millipedes, wood louse and dor beetles. We used magnifying glasses to look at these in more detail. We then made bird feeders and took these home to put in our gardens. In phonics, we learnt the grapheme /o/ for ostrich, we played matching alphabet games and read a CVC blending book. It was our first assembly too. We sang some of our favourite number songs and rhymes and finished with our end of the day prayer and hymn.
