This week in Maths, the children have been developing their prior knowledge of o’clock and half past, learnt in year one. They then progressed onto learning quarter past and quarter to and telling time past and to the hour. The children learnt that there are 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour and 24 hours in a day.

The children were fascinated to learn that there are two of the same hours in the day, such as, twelve o’clock at midday and twelve o’clock at midnight.
