About Our School

School Context

St Simon's is a Voluntary Aided Catholic Primary School situated in the Diocese of Shrewsbury and is maintained by Stockport Education Authority.

The school opened in 1970 and was originally open plan. However, considerable internal design has taken place to form separate classrooms throughout the school.

The Foundation stage classes (formerly known as Nursery and Reception, now Foundation Stage 1 and Foundation Stage 2) are housed within the main school and together form a Foundation Stage unit.

Each classroom has a number of computers (both PC and Apple) with internet access as well as an Interactive Whiteboard in each room.

St Simon's Catholic Primary school is recognised nationally for its exemplary use of ICT to support teaching and learning.

The school has extensive playing fields.
