Recording and Reporting

Your child's progress will be kept under review throughout his or her time at our school.

The children will be formally assessed in the core subjects at the ages of 7 (Y2) and 11(Y6) in our school.

The children's learning will be continuously assessed by the teacher in order to determine the next steps to be taught.

St Simons's tries hard to involve Parents in their child's education through:

  • Curriculum evenings - to explain and show aspects of work to parents.

  • Parents' evenings in the Autumn and Spring terms, when parents can see their child's work in school and talk to the teacher.

  • Individual written reports of pupils' progress at the end of the school year.

  • Individual meetings with parents where appropriate.

  • Any parent who is worried about their child is encouraged to contact the school to arrange to see the Headteacher and/or any member of staff.
