"Children enter the Nursery with skills that are typical for their age...
a greater proportion of children than nationally achieve a good level
of development by the end of Reception" Ofsted report Nov 2014
All 3 and 4 year olds in Stockport are entitled to a free, part time early years place. This becomes available to a child at the beginning of the term after their third birthday. The amount of free time for eligible 3 and 4 year olds is 15 hours per week of the school year (38 weeks in total).
You may be able to pay for extra hours on top of the ones that are free if spaces are available. Please ask!
From September 2017 the government are offering 30 hour Nursery sessions to eligible families. Combined with our Early Bird and Night Owl clubs this means that childcare for three and four year olds will be available on site from 7.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday during term times. This could provide an affordable solution to your childcare needs. For further information on funding eligibility go to:
Although many of the children who attend Foundation Stage 1 here carry on at St Simon's, some do go on to our sister school, St Peter's, at the end of the year and we work closely with our colleagues there, or any other school setting, to ensure a smooth transition.
