Week beginning 28/4/25

We welcomed Year 3 back to school this week after the Easter holidays and it has been a fun-filled week!

In PE this week, we started two new topics; Swimming and Outdoor Adventurous Activities (OAA). The children thoroughly enjoyed both new topics. Our OAA lessons are all based on team-building activities. In this week's lesson, we had to work as a team to get ourselves into certain orders or shapes. We reflected on how important it is to listen to each other and for everyone's voice to be valued when we work in a team.

We finished off our Ancient Egypt topic this week with a debate comparing two pharaohs; Cleopatra and Tutankhamun. The children had to work as a team to collect facts about these two pharaohs which were hidden around the classroom. They then worked together to compare the two pharaohs and had to make a decision about which pharaoh they thought was more important and give reasons for their answers. The children had a very healthy debate, giving great reasons for their answers.

On Fun Day Thursday, the children got to take part in a Boogie Bounce session. They had so much fun bouncing on their mini trampolines in the glorious sunshine. The Boogie Bounce coach was very impressed with their great singing as they were bouncing and dancing to the music!
